Theater CO-OP

The Benefits and Duties of a Co-op Theater
Season 3 – Six Week runs.

The Hollywood Fight Club Theater was created as a place for Hollywood’s hottest talent to showcase their art to the industry. It’s a place where we are able to perform what we want to do artistically, be seen, and keep our tools sharp. We have had many successful shows with good reviews and have gotten many industry professionals through our front door.

Since we are a co-op, we share production duties and expenses. Actors and HFCT are responsible for a few things…

  • HFC Co-op Theater benefits the actor by acting in as well as producing a play and being able to put both on their resume. Actors will also benefit from a rehearsal period of two to four weeks. There will be six performances, which will be held in a six week period.
  • HFCT will provide actors with Theater space, director, stage managers, house managers, postcards, press release and set props. Actors will be responsible for their costumes and personnel props.
  • HFCT’s marketing responsibility will only be to make sure that most news papers around town receive the show’s press release in order to be reviewed and to be put in their theater’s calendar section. Actors and director will be fully responsible in marketing their show. As an actor or a director, you are self employed.
  • Be prepared to compensate for busy schedule at the theater so be flexible with your schedule for rehearsals at the theater.
  • Actors and an HFCT staff member will be responsible for maintaining the theater after every rehearsal and show.
  • Actors, stage manager, assistant director and director will need to provide our Program committee leader with a BIO and maybe a picture within the first week of rehearsals.
  • Complimentary tickets will be at the box office for Talent Agents, Managers and Casting Directors only. They must call to reserve their seats and present a business card when they pick up their tickets.
  • Co-op fee is $425. You will be given 9 tickets to sell at $16. The actors, you, will keep $144 from the tickets sell. Your final investment will be $281 to act and produce at HFCT.
  • Actors have to be responsible for selling their own tickets. We may hold tickets at the front with specific names on them but will not be responsible for collecting any monies. The party whose tickets are being held should be told to ask for their tickets or else they will be charged.
  • There is NO eating or drinking in the theater at any time! The only exception is WATER!!! All food and drinks must be kept within the lobby. Any food or beverage items left behind will be thrown in the garbage.
  • All actors who are involved with a production must have constant and clear communication with the Stage Manager and the Director. This is a necessity! IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WE WANT TO KNOW !
  • $281 or 100% of the CO-OP fee is due at the Director’s meeting and if there is a remaining amount, it will be due no later then tech week.
  • Actors will not be reimbursed any funds once the deposit has been made. There will be no reimbursements of deposit to anyone in the cast if an actor voluntarily drops from the show which causes the show to be cancelled.
  • We accept cash, credit cards and checks. Credit cards will be charged a 5% surcharge.
  • HFCT reserves the right to terminate, the actors right to perform if it believes that the actor will jeopardize the production, ex: no show to rehearsals, more than 3 tardiness, insubordinate behavior etc.
  • HFCT will not be responsible for any injuries that might occur while rehearsing and performing in our theater space.

Actors talk constantly about wanting to do their own film or stage play. This usually doesn’t happen after finding out how much they really cost to produce. Here at HFCT we make it possible to produce your own $8,000 to $12,000 production for as little as $281 and give you the ability to be seen by dozens of industry personnel.
